The Cashew: A Kansas City Hotspot The Cashew, a recent addition to the KC bar scene by the longtime owners of the Peanut, is an upscale version of the original. It's a rousing, urban restaurant and bar sitting at the corner of 20th Street and Grand -- which, weather providing, is an ideal setup, allowing the place to morph into a larger venue when the giant, garage-door style windows surrounding it are lifted. Patrons then spill out onto the adjacent sidewalks for drinking al fresco at tables. The crowd here is mostly young (or not so young) urban professionals, with a sprinkling of musician types here and there. If you're so inspired, a photo booth tucked into the corner is ready and waiting to snap your drunk mug. |
